Dribbling to the Top by Joya Abou Jaoude EB8 F
We all have our specialties. If you don’t know yours yet, you’ve come to the right place. I could help you find out what you’re great at.
First, you need to go out, explore the outside world, hang out with friends, and play sports in order to discover new hobbies and healthy habits. If you’re an introvert, you could stay at home, like in the kitchen, in your room, in front of the camera, or in a mirror with makeup. Nothing should stop you from finding whatever activity you might one day excel at and be remembered for.
For example, at the
age of nine, I explored basketball. The first time I held the ball in my hands,
I knew that basketball was one of the things I am and will be excellent at. I
was made fun of when I joined the school basketball club because I was the only
and youngest girl to play but I didn’t let it come between myself and my
talent. Some ridiculed my skills but I knew that it will grow into something
big.
Of course, there are
disadvantages to anything. While doing what you love, sometimes things don’t go
as planned. However, that should never stop you from doing it because with the
good comes bad, and you will learn from them.
Moreover, when I was playing basketball with my friends, I hurt my
finger badly and had to go to the hospital just to find out that it was severely
broken. I stopped playing for a while and my finger became my weak point and it
made playing basketball very tough. Yes, the injury was small, but the impact was significant on my performance. My injury never stopped me, nor will it
ever do because I find joy when I play basketball.
To sum it all up, you should explore, and find out what you’re best at, and discover your specialties, even though it may come with disadvantages. The road is never easy but it is what shapes us human beings in general. These experiences allow character development and it is inevitable. What do you think is best, to cry and weep about things we went through, or to accept and gain an understanding of life lessons that make us stronger?
